It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop. ~Confucius
Isn’t that the truth. You will get there if you don’t stop moving. So many times we stop just before we are getting ready for a breakthrough.
I am sure you have also heard the quote ‘it’s always darkest before the dawn’ and it’s a great way to look at quitting. It always seems to be the most difficult before a breakthrough.
So many times though it gets too difficult or abstract and we give up. Maybe hours or minutes before we will get our big break.
But we don’t know. Because we gave up. Not everyone, and not all the time but it happens. And it’s unfortunate because it is avoidable.
Being really clear on our expected outcomes (goals) is a great way to maintain focus and complete projects. I know exactly why I do each thing I do each and every day and therefore I don’t question it along the way.
And I don’t give up because I can see the outcome and I know what my milestones are along the way to achieve what I set out to do. If I need to adjust my action steps then I will but overall the plan is set.
Each of us has their motivation and path that they follow every day. We have people and situations which support us and those which don’t. S**t also comes up that is completely out of our control and there is nothing we can do about it.
What we can do is choose consciously based on our values and plans. For me it’s my family and my faith that keeps me going when things are challenging and I need extra help.
Where do you find strength, motivation and inspiration when the going gets tough?
