LINKS TO RECOMMENDED SOFTWARE, TOOLS, BOOKS AND MORE…
Canva: The very best FREE resource for creating any kind of image you need. They have a massive library of templates and other tools. I created all of the images on this site in Canva (after initially creating the backgrounds in Adobe).
Adobe Creative Cloud*: Still the best creative software on the market (in my opinion). You can do just about anything with this set of programs. All of the photography and art on this website and in my portfolio has been created using one or more of their tools.
Alien Skin:* Coolest Photoshop plugin for creating Art out of Photographs. With this plugin you can take a photo and add brushstrokes (and many other effects). You will see this technique used with many of my art pieces on this site.
Trello: Project management software. You create boards for your project and then tasks on the board for each task you need to complete. I use this software when I want to share links to my projects (like I am in this toolkit).
Asana: Project management software. Asana gives you the ability to create Templates for your projects and also view them as lists and not boards. The downside to Asana is that you can’t share links to your projects in the same way as Trello. I use this software for some of my projects and Trello for others.
Acuity*: Online appointment and scheduling software. Integrate with your google calendar. This software offers forms and payment option to easily integrate your scheduling.
Norman Vincent Peale*: The Power of Positive Thinking
This book literally changed my life! I listened to the audio version for about 80 hours straight. Not sure how many times through but eventually the words sank in and my life completely changed.
The Bible*: ESV Large Print Paperback
I keep this book close and try to read a little bit every day. God guides me each and every day and I would be lost without my faith.
Louise Hay*: Heal Your Life
An awesome book of healing affirmations. I use this every day to rebalance and focus on what I’m feeling and what I need in the moment.
David Hawkins M.D, PHD*: Letting Go: The Pathway to Surrender
Wonderful insights and techniques for letting go of what doesn’t serve you in your life.
John J. Ratey: Spark: The Revolutionary New Science of Exercise and the Brain
Yes! Exercise makes a world of difference when it comes to learning, health and everything else!
“Did you know you can beat stress, lift your mood, fight memory loss, sharpen your intellect, and function better than ever simply by elevating your heart rate and breaking a sweat? The evidence is incontrovertible: aerobic exercise physically remodels our brains for peak performance.”
